Press brake tooling is set between the ram and working table to shape and bend sheet metal. The brake press uses a punch to force the metal sheet into the die, creating a permanent crease and reshaping the metal.
In general, press brake tooling can be divided into the punch adapter, punch and die. Punch and die are also called top tool and bottom tool, or upper mould and lower mould. The upper tool is usually segmental, and lower tool might be segmental or full length.
There are Europe style press brake tooling, and American style press brake tooling.
